Fort Wayne Fires 18th One-Hitter in Franchise History in Series Opening Win

MWL Fort Wayne TinCaps EASTLAKE, Ohio. - The Fort Wayne TinCaps fired the 18th one-hitter in franchise history in Tuesday night's 6-2 win over the Lake County Captains (Guardians affiliate). Right-hander Matthew Watson got his first professional win for Fort Wayne (30-40, 3-1). Watson went six innings, a career high, and allowed the lone hit of the evening. Last week in Frederick, the 'Burgers brought the tying run to the plate in the ninth in four straight games. The series opener against Winston-Salem stayed true to the trend, as the Spartanburgers (2-2, 36-34) beat the Dash (1-3, 39-31) 5-4 on a walk-off passed ball. EL Hartford Yard Goats Hartford, CT - The Hartford Yard Goats defeated the Boston Red Sox affiliate, the Portland Sea Dogs, 7-5 on Tuesday night at Dunkin' Park in Hartford. The Yard Goats erased a one-run deficit with a three-run seventh inning to earn the win. Hartford stole its 100th base of the season and tied a franchise record with 9 stolen bases, led by GJ Hill with four. The Yard Goats jumped out to a 4-1 lead in the second inning.
